Situated in the middle of the mountainous area of Cadiz, specifically in the northeast triangle of the Sierra de Cadiz, at the crossroads between the provinces of Cádiz, Malaga and Sevilla. Olvera is a village of Arab roots declared of joint historic and artistic importance in 1983. It sits at an altitude of 643 m above sea level in mountainous area (Peñon de Zaframagon, Sierra de Lijar, Sierra de las Harinas..) that characterizes the countryside; its reddish land splattered with stains of brushwood, patches of old olive groves, cereals and stubble fields. Through all of this flows the Guadalporcún and Salado Rivers joining up with Guadalete River, the main river network in the province.
