Entrance fee (Museum and Castle): 2 Euros except for local inhabitants.
Located in the "La Cilla" House, this museum was opened in the summer of 1999 and is dedicated to the frontier and castles at the time of the Christian recapture of Spain. The museum was the first in all Andalusia to deal with this topic. There are two halls:
Using elements of stage design and historical settings, the hall is divided into two parts.
Hall A: The Frontier as a war zone.
Part of the castle and wall has been recreated detailing the characteristic elements of their construction.
Another section is dedicated to different sections of the population of period (captives, crossbowmen, people in authority etc. and another in which the most common weapons of the day are displayed, lances, and shields, arrows, helmets...
Hall B: Daily Life on the Frontier.
Several scenes from the daily life of the period are depicted dominated by rural society and the subsistence economy. Of particular note are: the home, the market and the artisan's workshop.
